Meet the Designer
The Roper’s Advantage was designed by Newt Novich, a lifelong cowboy, professional rodeo steer wrestler, and skilled industrial fabricator from Twin Bridges, Montana.
Raised on his family’s ranch in the Ruby Valley, Newt grew up with horses, cattle, and rodeo as a way of life. Throughout his rodeo career, Newt competed in multiple events including calf roping, team roping, and steer wrestling. He continued through high school rodeo, college rodeo, and eventually advanced to the professional ranks as a PRCA steer wrestler. His experience in the arena, combined with his professional background in industrial welding and fabrication, gave him the skills to turn an idea born from a real training need into a working product.
Every stage of his journey reinforced one belief: success isn’t built on luck. It’s built on purposeful practice.
That belief inspired The Roper’s Advantage.
Drawing from years of competition, hands-on fabrication experience, and a lifetime in the western way of life, Newt set out to create a training system that helps ropers practice with intention, build confidence, and perform at a higher level when it matters most.
